The Board



Di Yerbury is a distinguished Australian businesswomen, academic and university administrator. She was the Vice-Chancellor of Macquarie University, Sydney, Australia from 1987 to 2005. She was Australia’s first female Vice-Chancellor, and was also the longest serving Vice-Chancellor of Macquarie University. In 1987 she was also made Professor Emerita at the University of New South Wales.She was named the 2002 Telstra New South Wales Business Woman of the Year. Di has also served on numerous boards, including Australia Post, Citibank (Australia) and Navitas Limited.



Talal Yassine is an experienced banker and non-executive director. He is currently the Managing Director of Crescent Wealth and serves as a Non-Executive Director on the Board of Australia Post. Currently Talal is the Chairman of the Department of Foreign Affairs, Council of Australia-Arab Relations, Director of the Australia Malaysia Institute, Director of the Whitlam Institute and Professor at the Australian National University.

Previously, Talal spent 10 years at PwC as a Director and strategist, he then joined investment firm Babcock & Brown in the Corporate Finance Group and later in the Technical Real Estate Division. Later Talal co-founded and held leadership positions in Better Place Australia. Talal has served on the Board of Macquarie University; and as the Deputy Chairman of a government regulator and Director of Sydney Ports.

On Australia Day 2010, Talal was awarded a Medal of the Order of Australia (OAM) for his service to business and to the community through a range of education, health and multicultural organisations.



Hilal Yassine is an experienced businessman and director. Hilal has over 15 years of business, management and legal expertise, holding various roles as a senior executive at PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) Sydney and London based firm Clyde & Co in their Dubai Offices. He was also Chief Operating Officer of the Austaxi Group and the Managing Director of the Platinum Hearing Group.

Hilal is currently the Chairman of the Crescent Institute Limited. He is also a Director on the Boards of the Co-op Bookshop Limited and the Australian Arab Dialogue Foundation Limited.

Hilal holds an MBA (UWS), LL.M (UNSW), B.Com (UNSW) and LL.B (UNSW).
